The area in Minnesota, which became known as Hamel, was heavily forested with maple trees. This drew ancestors William and J.O. Hamel of Quebec to settle in the area, which would later bear their name. In the years that followed, generations of family and friends have continued to carry out the springtime ritual of tapping their treasured maples.
As Hamel Maple Syrup has grown, the Jordan and Leuer families have sourced maple syrup from local sugar makers and farms located primarily in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan. Every sugar maker is committed to producing high quality maple syrup and being good stewards of the maple trees. Each farmer is treated with the utmost respect and dignity. Our relationship with the farmers ensures that we can offer a consistently delicious maple product every time.
